E.B.: One Week From Today

In case you are wondering, I am that lucky person who will get to go to every destination that Qatar Airways flies to in South America, in one day.

Beirut to Doha: 2 hr 45
(55 min layover)
Doha to Sao Paolo: 14 hr 35
(1 hr 15 layover)
Sao Paolo to Buenos Aires: 2 hr 45

It's interesting that the distance from Beirut to Doha is the same as that between Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires. In my mind, Beirut and Doha are about as different as two cities can be (bikinis vs. burkas, tanning oil vs. crude oil) and Sao Paolo and Buenos Aires are really similar. I plan to use my short hour in the airport to try and get a sense for how Brazilians differ from Argentinians. I also plan to try and catch a glimpse of the Christ the Redeemer statue as I fly in. If anyone knows which side of the plane I need to be sitting on to see it, please comment below!

  1. Arriving from Sao Paulo
Because of the north-south path of flight from Sao Paulo to Rio, you have the vision of Christ the Redeemer on the left side of the aircraft, while the sea is on the right side. However, the aircraft approach to Santos Dumont airport can change and can take two separate routes before landing. NOTE: Because you can not predict how it will arrive, if the plane is empty and you find yourself on the wrong side, nobody will care if you switch to the window on the opposite side of the plane.

    Hope that helps - I can Google! - aren't I amazin!!!

    Have a great trip!

  2. I also like that it appears (from the time stamp) that I knew the answer before you even asked! I love technology. ;)
